Intercultural Communications
We are out here in Waxhaw, NC at the JAARs center for a month of Intercultural Communications training through Wycliffe. Here we learn how not to be and act like the typical American, but how to be more sensitive to the cultural differences between our culture, and those of others. What a wonderful class!! I fear I may be the oldest one here... just like at our Equip training in Orlando in January, 2013. Worse still, I hit the big 50 in just two weeks. I fear old-timers may be setting in, Amelie almost beat me at a game of chess tonight!!
I went to a wonderful men's retreat this morning (Saturday) while Jenny took the girls swimming. She was so hot, it appears she just jumped right in, thus giving her Droid phone a chance to cool off as well! I now have it in a zip lock bag on rice... more on how that turns out later.
Our RV is due to get picked up by a salesman from Boat-N-RV (out of Knoxville, TN) some time tomorrow to be sold under consignment. It is already supposedly sold. If this pans out, all that is left to sell is the property and the house.
We had a movie night at our rental house here last night so the girls could watch "American Girl, Saige" via the new projector. We had a total of 5 kids and four adults. Not too bad, but hoping for a better turn out next week.
Tomorrow we head to a Korean church for some cultural diversity. I hope we can make some friends!
More to come!
