Bridge out!!

We woke up this morning to startling news, the bridge on the road from Ukarumpa to the rest of PNG collapsed this morning as a tanker truck tried to cross it.  I just drove over this bridge last week Friday!  I took a video as I crossed it returning to Ukarumpa.  It was slowly sinking, and now it sunk.

This will have widespread effects on us, but praise God we are flying to Madang in two weeks, because driving is out.  The auto shop is already almost out of gas (remember the tanker that's in the river??) and fuel is being rationed.  Fortunately we just got a shipment of food in a 40' container.  How long it will take to repair the bridge depends on many things, but will likely be over 6 months.  This sounds like a good time to take 12 weeks off and vacation at the Pacific Orientation Course in Madang.

Thanks Papa God for watching our backs on this one too!

I'll try to post a photo of the bridge tomorrow...

Our God is awesome!!
